New Chairman of MARA Corp conducts first working visit to UniKL MIAT

YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman, the recently appointed Chairman of MARA Corporation Sdn Bhd (MARA Corp), made his inaugural working visit to Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) on July 17th, 2023.

The visit marks a significant milestone in the institution’s history as it introduces its specialised aviation and aircraft maintenance technology to the Chairman.

UniKL stands as one of the prominent subsidiaries under MARA Corp, an investment and commercial arm of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA).

Accompanied by key figures from MARA Corp and UniKL, Tan Sri Dr. Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman was taken on a comprehensive tour of UniKL MIAT’s state-of-the-art facilities.

The Chairman had the opportunity to explore two helicopter hangars and experience the Advanced Flight Simulation Centre, dedicated to the Aircraft Type Rating Training Programme for Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

A key aspect of UniKL’s approach to education is encapsulated in their concept of ‘One Institute, One Specialisation.’ As an institute specialising in aviation and aircraft maintenance technology, UniKL MIAT focuses on nurturing a skilled and knowledgeable workforce for the aviation industry.

Dr. Azman Senin; Deputy President (Academic & Technology) of UniKL, YBhg. Prof. Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir; Deputy President (Student Development & Campus Lifestyle) of UniKL, YBhg. Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long; and Dean of UniKL MIAT, Dr. Mohd. Hafizi Shamsudin.
