UniKL celebrates 26 graduates from inaugural Industrial Logistics Diploma

The 20th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) marked a momentous occasion as 26 students proudly graduated from the pioneering offshore Diploma in Industrial Logistics programme.

This achievement represents a significant milestone in UniKL’s commitment to providing high-quality education.

During the convocation’s seventh session on November 7th, they received their diplomas from the Group Chief Executive Officer of MARA Corporation Sdn Bhd, YBhg. Dato’ Julainie Mohd Salleh.

“I was informed that there are three graduates from this programme who have flown from Mauritius to attend this convocation ceremony. Congratulations to the graduates.

“We hope that these graduates will continue to make a significant contribution to the development of the logistics industry, not only in Mauritius but throughout the world, as part of the competent human capital developed to fulfil the demand of the industry,” he said during his speech at the ceremony.

The Diploma in Industrial Logistics programme is a collaborative venture between UniKL, specifically its Johor-based institute, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), and Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd (PML).

This milestone is particularly noteworthy as it signifies UniKL’s first franchised collaboration with an overseas higher education institution, expanding its global footprint and enhancing its academic offerings.

Commencing its operations in 2020, the programme immediately garnered attention in Mauritius, with 132 students enrolling across three intakes. This remarkable success is a testament to the programme’s appeal and the growing demand for skilled professionals in the logistics industry.

Recognising the vital importance of a highly competent logistics workforce, stakeholders and industry experts have closely evaluated and fine-tuned the programme to ensure it meets the current needs of the sector.

UniKL MITEC has emerged as a trailblazer in producing skilled professionals for the logistics industry, making it the natural choice for Polytechnics Mauritius in establishing this franchised collaboration.

The success of this programme underscores UniKL’s dedication to delivering internationally recognised educational programmes and aligns with its vision of becoming a globally competitive university with widespread acclaim.

As UniKL celebrates the achievements of these 26 graduates, it also looks forward to further enriching the educational landscape through more innovative collaborations and industry-responsive programmes.
