UniKL strengthens international recruitment ties in engagement session

In a bid to bolster its international student population and enhance collaboration with long-standing recruitment partners, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) hosted a fruitful engagement session yesterday (September 11th) with 15 international recruitment agencies.

The event provided a platform for open dialogue, mutual feedback, and highlighted areas for improvement in line with UniKL’s mission to diversify its student body.

During the engagement session, certificates of appointment were also presented to the participating agents, symbolising the longstanding and valued partnerships between UniKL and these recruitment agencies.

The feedback received during this initial gathering is expected to pave the way for significant enhancements in UniKL’s international recruitment strategies.

Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, stressed the university’s commitment to increasing its international student population.

“Diversity at our institution is a priority,” he stated, emphasising the need to aggressively pursue an expansion in the number of international students.

UniKL currently hosts approximately 758 international students representing 28 countries, a figure that the university hopes to augment significantly in the coming years.

To achieve this, the university recognises the invaluable role played by recruitment agencies in identifying, attracting, and supporting international students throughout their academic journey.

Other key attendees at the engagement session included UniKL Deputy President (Student Development and Campus Lifestyle), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long and representatives from the Marketing & Student Recruitment Division (MesRA) and Campus Lifestyle Division (CLD).

This engagement session is just the beginning, as UniKL plans to host more such interactions in the future, involving an even larger network of partnered agencies.
