KOBETA-UniKL extend agreement to provide student housing

Strengthening their commitment to enhancing student welfare, Koperasi Bersatu Tenaga Malaysia Berhad (KOBETA) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) yesterday, to continue providing comfortable and convenient housing options for UniKL students.

This renewed memorandum solidifies the collaboration between KOBETA and UniKL, ensuring the provision of student housing for the next five years, until February 6, 2028.

The partnership, which has been in effect since 2015, marks a significant step towards ensuring a conducive living environment for UniKL students.

In the early years of collaboration, UniKL Business School (BIS) began renting units at ZETA Park, followed by accommodations at Maxim Citylights, effectively addressing the housing needs of students.

However, the partnership’s framework evolved in 2017, when both parties proposed and gained approval from the UniKL Board of Directors for an official Memorandum of Agreement.

Representatives of both organisations participated in the official signing ceremony. The Acting President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Assoc Prof Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, represented the university, while Chairman of KOBETA, Tuan Nasution Ismail represented the cooperative.

The ceremony bore witness to the official endorsement of the partnership by Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur And Cooperatives Development (MECD), YB Senator Puan Saraswathy Kandasami.

The MoA extension signifies a collective commitment to prioritise the well-being of UniKL students by ensuring comfortable, accessible, and secure housing options throughout their educational journey.
