MARA Chairman’s visit to UniKL Chancellery sparks development dialogue

The Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki embarked on a notable milestone as he undertook his first official visit to the Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Chancellery.

The visit not only marked his inaugural interaction with the staff of UniKL but also signified his commitment to fostering a closer relationship between MARA and the university.

It was the Chairman’s first direct interaction with the university’s employees since he was appointed to lead MARA.

Central engagement themes included the institution’s operational structure, the welfare of its staff, and its ambitions of becoming a leading technical university both within Malaysia and on the global stage.

“My visit to UniKL Chancellery today is part of my strategic framework to visit all institutions under MARA. This visit has provided me with valuable insights into the operations of UniKL, which is undeniably moving toward its goal of being at the forefront of technical education in Malaysia and beyond,” he said.

Accompanying the Chairman were the Group Chief Executive Officer of MARA Corporation Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Julainie Mohd Salleh; Acting President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin and the top management team from UniKL.

The engagement session primarily drew academic staff from various departments, predominantly from the UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) and the UniKL Business School (UBIS).

However, the session also extended its reach to encompass a broader representation of UniKL campuses, including UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI), UniKL Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH), UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI), and UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT).
