New MARA Chairman embarks first visit to UniKL MITEC

“I was greatly impressed!”

These were the words of the newly appointed Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki, during his inaugural visit to the Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC) on June 19th, 2023.

Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi, who also serves as the Pro-Chancellor of UniKL, embarked on a 30-minute tour of two training warehouses and a gallery at UniKL MITEC.

During his visit, Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi expressed his admiration for UniKL MITEC, stating that no other higher learning institution currently possesses such comprehensive training equipment and simulators for the oil and gas and logistics industries.

“I firmly believe that the equipment and courses offered here are not only highly relevant but also remarkably dynamic, aligning perfectly with the current demands of the industrial landscape.

“Oil and gas is an important sector of Malaysia’s economy, and logistics is another thriving field in the future.

“With this equipment, I am confident that UniKL MITEC will produce highly skilled talents in line with the demands of these industries,” he added during an engagement session with the Student Representative Committee (SRC) at UniKL MITEC, following the tour.

The session provided student leaders with an opportunity to engage in a two-way discussion with Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi at the newly-built Student Lounge of UniKL MITEC.

As part of the visit, Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi also inaugurated the Student Lounge, which was completed on December 26th, 2022.

This newly constructed facility will serve as a space for students to relax, collaborate, and foster a sense of community.

For the record, UniKL MITEC, based in Johor, specialises in Quality Engineering and Logistics Industry programmes.
