MoHE allocates RM6.54m for FOOD@CAMPUS 2.0 initiative

More welfare of B40 students from institutions of higher learning (IPT) including Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) will continue to be protected as the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) resumes the initiative to provide free food vouchers through FOOD@CAMPUS 2.0 Keluarga Malaysia.

An allocation of RM200,000 has been allotted by the ministry for the B40 groups at IPTS out of the total of RM6,542,563.

Under the initiative, the RM15 worth of each voucher will benefit 176,083 students at all universities through the injection of funds, whereby RM1 million of the total allocation was donated by Yayasan Kebajikan Siswa (YKS).

The donation was handed over at a launch ceremony of FOOD@CAMPUS 2.0 Keluarga Malaysia, which was officiated by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad on 5 July 2022.

The Student Representative Committees (SRCs) from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), namely Mohamad Aiman Dzikri Mohamad Dzakir and Mohamad Nazreen Shah Pauzi received the mock cheque donation on behalf of UniKL.

For the record, FOOD@CAMPUS Keluarga Malaysia is an initiative formed in line with the government’s efforts in empowering students as outlined under the Malaysia Education Development Plan 2015-2025.

This initiative aims to help alleviate the daily food expenses of the B40 students.

Apart from that, it also aims to encourage additional food welfare initiatives for students from the B40 group through contributions from welfare funds, endowments and zakat bodies as well as responsible agencies.
