UniKL MFI secures 3rd runner-up at UniKL International Robattle Competition 2023

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) emerged as the third runner-up at the electrifying clash of metal and circuits, UniKL International Robattle Competition (UIRC) 2023 in the category of Robot Combat.

The team, comprised of a quartet – Muhammad Arif Zakaria, Muhammad Izham Ibrahim, Mizal Haireez Mohd Faizal, and Muhammad Zarif Muhamad Zainudin claimed the spot with a cash prize of RM400.

The crowning glory of the competition, however, went to Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) Pekan B, who clinched the championship title.

Their victory was celebrated with a winning certificate, a medal, and a substantial RM1,000 cash prize.

The Robot Combat category saw four dynamic teams (Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green) engage in a high-stakes battle.

Maneuvering wireless remote machines through three gripping phases – 1 on 1 robot battles, free-for-all matches, and the Rise of the Tower – competitors aimed to secure victory by accumulating the most points within the three-minute showdown.

Triumph hinged on strategic Tower conquests and other daring actions.

UIRC 2023 also featured three other riveting categories – Line Following Robot, Sumo Robot, and Innovation.

These challenges tested the mettle of participants’ robotic creations, pushing the boundaries of agility, speed, and innovative problem-solving.

Adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition, the Innovation category encouraged participants to think outside the box, devising solutions to real-world problems that showcased the future of robotics.

Among the participants, 18 teams were contingent from Iran, and three teams were contingent from Indonesia.

The event brought together more than 420 participants, underscoring its widespread appeal and global representation.

For the record, the winners across the four categories at UIRC 2023 collectively took home a share of the impressive prize pool, totalling RM8,950.

The event also boasted a showcase of industry players such as Sensata Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd, Xlent Innovator Sdn Bhd, and Mechabotics Technology Sdn Bhd.
