Sabah Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation visits UniKL, ensuring student welfare

The visit of the Sabah Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation to Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) marked the commencement of an engagement session between the ministry and students from Sabah attending the university.

Taking place on October 12th at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) in Sepang, Datuk Dr. Haji Arifin emphasised that the Sabah government consistently prioritises the needs of Sabah’s students, whether they are pursuing education domestically or abroad.

He also highlighted the Sabah government’s commitment to educational support, citing various initiatives under the Deputy State Secretary’s Office for Special Tasks with a total allocation of RM43 million.

During the engagement session, Datuk Dr. Haji Arifin, who also serves as Sabah’s Islamic Religious Affairs and Education representative, toured UniKL MIAT’s hangar and other campus facilities. Notably, 84 Sabah students studying at UniKL participated in the session.

Also present were, Sabah Public Services Department Director-General, Datuk Zainudin Aman; Deputy State Secretary for Special Tasks, YBhg. Tuan Haji Sapdin Ibrahim; UniKL Deputy President (Academic & Technology), Prof. Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir; and UniKL Deputy President (Student Development and Campus Lifestyle), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long.

This engagement session stemmed from a prior comprehensive meeting with a delegation from the Sabah State Government, aiming to strengthen educational partnerships and expand opportunities for Sabah’s students.
