UniKL to facilitate further study opportunities for Balik Pulau Vocational College graduates

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Balik Pulau Vocational College are forming a collaborative partnership to provide opportunities for the latter’s graduates to further studies at UniKL with a shortened study period.

For this purpose, UniKL will offer various programmes that enable those graduates to transfer their credits upon furthering studies at the university.

This collaborative partnership is formalised through a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) which was signed by UniKL President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr. Roziah Omar and Director of Balik Pulau Vocational College, Haji Harunarasih Mohd. Yusoff at UniKL City Campus, yesterday.

It was also witnessed by UniKL Deputy President (Academic & Technology), Prof. Dr. Shahrulniza Musa, and Balik Pulau Vocational College Head of Information Technology Department, Hanis Shazana Mohamed Soid.

Under the MoC, Prof. Dr. Shahrulniza said that both technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions will map the credit transfer to facilitate further study opportunities for those graduates.

“Through this collaboration, we are looking forward to seeing more TVET graduates further their studies beyond the certificate and diploma level of education.

“We expect credit transfer programmes will commence in September 2022 for bachelor’s degree, and in July 2022 for diploma programmes,” said him after the MoC signing ceremony.

Also in attendance, Dean of UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long, and General Manager of UniKL Academic Management Division, Puan Ash’ariah Badarudin.

Under the same collaboration, both parties have agreed to share management expertise and skills in the aspect of reviewing curriculum documents as well as implementing the audit process for the programme, provide skills improvement training for students at the institute premises according to industry standards, and collaborate in any other projects that shall be mutually identified and agreed by the parties at a later stage.
