MoHE Football League: UniKL FC storms into semi-finals

UniKL FC produced a dominant display to thrash Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) 4-1 and book their place in the semi-finals of the ‘Bola Sepak Piala Menteri Pendidikan 2023’.

The win was inspired by a hat-trick from Youssouf Chaibou Issoufou, who scored in the 37th, 73rd, and 81st minutes.

Muhammad Wafi Mohd Nazri, meanwhile, added the other goal for UniKL FC in the 57th minute.

Assistant Manager of UniKL FC, Mohd Nor Azmin Md Hashim, was delighted with his team’s performance.

“We created a lot of chances and took them when we could. We are confident of doing well in the semi-finals,” he said.

UniKL FC will face UITM Perlis in the semi-finals on 26 September 2023.

Ahead of the semi-final, UniKL FC is undergoing rigorous training at the UniKL MIAT’s turf.

Mohd Nor Azmin further noted, that the players are all in a winning attitude and are determined to make history by lifting the cup for the first time.

For the record, UniKL FC ended a seven-year delay to claim the title of champion in a major higher learning institute football competition after lifting the Second Division of MOHE League 2022 trophy, last year.
