WorldSkills Malaysia University Challenge (WSMUC 2021), which is set to be the benchmark for skills competitions among higher learning institutions, is now officially launched.

Gathering 55 participants from 11 institutes of higher learning nationwide, the two-day competition is taking place virtually starting tomorrow which entails four focused areas of future skills namely Mobile Applications Development, Cyber Security, Mechanical Engineering CAD, and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Deputy Director General (Development), Department of Skills Development (DSD), Dr. Mohamad Sulaiman said, WSMUC 2021 aims to introduce the future skills that are in line with the contested fields at the WorldSkills Competition (WSC).

“I encourage such competitions to be continued in the future by expanding the list of new future skills and gaining more participation, especially from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) university students,” said him during his inaugural speech at the virtual opening ceremony of WSMUC 2021, today.
